I have no interest in being a Google apologist but there's one thing about your comment:

The article said $62.39 PER DAY (not per month.)

While that's only just slightly above what an 8-hour day at minimum wage earns (and that does suck), the fact is that the progress of that one company absolutely cannot determine the progress of the whole. Larva might be making minimum wage, but Better Android might be making ten times that.

I look at it from the opposite perspective. Who's more likely to listen to a Techcrunch article..."Google," or an aspiring developer? I'm going with the latter.

I don't want somebody going "Shit, I'm only gonna make minimum wage coding my app for Android, so fuck it. I'm making an iPhone game." It's a growth segment, and gold rush coders have flocked to the iPhone (more high quality apps simply by the virtue of there being MORE APPS.) There's also the whole thing about closed platform versus open platform that I don't want to get into. I just wanted to highlight the fact that the iTunes app store and Android Market are very different.

Come on now- do you REALLY think making $60 per month when you have the #5 app is doing well? Seriously?

Bitch and moan about Apple all you want- I certainly have my share of frustrations- but your argument is pretty pathetic. Stop making excuses for Google- if they pay attention, maybe they'll improve their app store and developers will actually start making some money.
